Job Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Manager at our ROOTS manufacturing plant in Connersville, IN. As required, this position will supervise the Quality Engineering / Technician positions at the local site to provide technical support and ensure compliance to ISO-9001 International Quality Standards for the manufacturing operations. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining all procedures required for ISO 9001 as well as preparation for associated quality audits. This position will also work with the Procurement / Sourcing Departments to ensure outside suppliers (domestic and international) are providing raw material and manufactured components that comply with all engineering and purchasing specifications.

Responsibilities
* Direct supervisor for Quality Engineering, Quality Technicians, and plant inspection personnel.
* Coordinates ISO visits with necessary staff and manages any corrective actions that occur because of external inspections.
* Monitors production First-Pass-Yield data, supplier score cards, warranty trends, and other key quality metrics. Partner with the Plant Manager, Production Supervision, Sourcing Team, and ITS - America's Quality Leader to initiate corrective actions for key quality metrics as required.
* In conjunction with Sourcing, work with outside vendors to develop or improve manufacturing processes for purchased components.
* Actively participate in Kaizen Events and other Lean activities to improve quality and drive out waste / cost from the manufacturing processes.
* Ensure vendor changes, part substitutions, and First Article Inspections are compliant with plant quality procedures.
* Assist Manufacturing Engineering to troubleshoot and resolve production problems.

Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Industrial / Engineering Management preferred). Must have good mechanical aptitude of general machinery.
* 8+ years of quality assurance experience preferably in a machining/assembly facility with 5 years of progressive Leadership, managing Quality Assurance programs.
* Experience in leading audits.
* Previous experience in SAP or other ERP type systems is preferred.
* Ability to lead a global, cross functional team comprised of personnel from the purchasing, manufacturing, sales/marketing, etc. and reach project goals within schedule parameters.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:
Fully onsite based

Key Competencies:
* Work closely with global Customer Service, Field Service and Manufacturing personnel to resolve customer / field issues regarding legacy and new products.
* Use advanced Quality Assurance techniques (FMEA, CMM Inspection, GD&T, Gage R&R Studies, Process Capability Studies...) to proactively manage product quality.
* Superior analytical and problem solving skills.
* Excellent communication, project management and organizational skills. Must be capable to work in a fast paced, creative, results-oriented atmosphere.
