Purpose:

Anticipated initial 3 year assignment onsite in Norco, LA working a 9-80 schedule. You will provide mechanical engineering services, rotating equipment knowledge, and technical support and supervision within the project/mechanical team. You will use best practices to solve functional issues and improve programs and/or processes. Independently works through individual projects and/or plays key role in broader projects. Relies on systemic thinking and understanding of broader organizational implications of the work being performed.

Responsibilities:

  • Within the Rotating/ Mechanical Engineering group, perform conventional and moderately complex engineering tasks utilizing current technology and API standards with minimal supervision.
  • Create original documents for the specifying and evaluation of equipment.
  • May perform in a technical leadership role coordinating and directing other disciplines as required.
  • Makes use of the Company Procedures Manual while seeking improvements to work process and design approaches.

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:

  • Knowledge of API 520 and 521 specifications
  • Knowledge in the application of rotating equipment performance and condition monitoring methods
  • Flare hydraulics knowledge
  • Exposure in the troubleshooting and repair of reciprocating and centrifugal compressors, steam turbine drivers, electrical motor drivers, single stage and multi-stage centrifugal pumps, canned motor pumps, positive displacement plunger and injection pumps, process propeller mixers, gearboxes, air cooler exchanger fans, furnace and boiler blowers, and conveyors.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable theories, practices, and accepted office procedures.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Rotating Equipment Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
