Responsibilities

  • Maintains and cultivates an understanding of key business policies, practices, processes, and related controls.
  • Executes financial, compliance, and operational audits within the parameters of an approved work program.
  • Prepares work papers to properly record and summarize the results of detailed audit testing.
  • Obtains, analyzes, and appraises evidentiary data as a basis for an informed, objective opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of the control system and the efficiency of the operations being reviewed.
  • Report engagement observations to the senior assurance auditor and/or assurance services management during the audit promptly.
  • Performs follow-up reviews to ensure audit recommendations are implemented.
  • Assists with special projects, consulting/ advisory engagements, and assignments exclusive of the audit work plan assigned by the assurance services management team.
  • Assists and supports the external auditors as requested and defined by the annual audit plan.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in accounting or business-related discipline.
  • One year experience in internal audit or public accounting; experience within the company or healthcare industry may be substituted as deemed appropriate by assurance management.
Preferred
  • Certified public accountant (CPA) and/or certified internal auditor (CIA); other applicable and relevant audit certifications.
