Responsibilities
- Maintains and cultivates an understanding of key business policies, practices, processes, and related controls.
- Executes financial, compliance, and operational audits within the parameters of an approved work program.
- Prepares work papers to properly record and summarize the results of detailed audit testing.
- Obtains, analyzes, and appraises evidentiary data as a basis for an informed, objective opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of the control system and the efficiency of the operations being reviewed.
- Report engagement observations to the senior assurance auditor and/or assurance services management during the audit promptly.
- Performs follow-up reviews to ensure audit recommendations are implemented.
- Assists with special projects, consulting/ advisory engagements, and assignments exclusive of the audit work plan assigned by the assurance services management team.
- Assists and supports the external auditors as requested and defined by the annual audit plan.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in accounting or business-related discipline.
- One year experience in internal audit or public accounting; experience within the company or healthcare industry may be substituted as deemed appropriate by assurance management.
Preferred
- Certified public accountant (CPA) and/or certified internal auditor (CIA); other applicable and relevant audit certifications.
