Alliance Technical Group is hiring a Field Service Technician I in the Geismar, LA area. The Field Service Technician I is responsible for service and repair of CEMS (continuous emission monitoring system) systems at customer locations as well as reporting of data and in-house analyzer service and repair. Essential Functions:

  • Conduct performance testing of equipment operated by Alliance
  • Maintain supplies needed for gas chromatography and CEMS projects
  • Coordinate delivery of equipment and supplies to teammates and end users
  • Conduct maintenance, quality assurance testing and repairs on various air sampling instrumentation, including:
    • Computerized emissions monitoring systems (CEMS)
    • Gas chromatographs (GC)
    • Mercury sorbent trap sampling systems
    • Continuous opacity monitoring systems (COMS)
    • Volumetric flow monitoring systems
    • Particulate matter monitoring systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair gas sampling systems
  • Understand regulatory requirements of the equipment being serviced
  • Work with Microsoft office applications (excel, word, etc.)
  • Have basic PLC knowledge
  • Troubleshoot signal and control loops (DC)
  • Understand and troubleshoot signal wiring diagrams
  • Understand and troubleshoot various communications protocols
  • Work in Windows 10 or current Windows operating system
  • Communicate clearly with customers and other coworkers
  • Review Data and Reports to Ensure Compliance with Applicable Standards

Pay Range:

$20/hour

Physical Demands:

  • Consistent standing or walking
  • Consistent bending, crouching or stooping
  • Frequent lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Climbing ladders and/or stairs
  • Use of tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity
  • Ability to distinguish between shades of color
  • Ability to operate an Aerial Lift from the platform or deck
  • Ability and Willingness to work at elevated heights on stack platforms up to 300 feet
    • Must be willing to work outdoors in industrial environments.

    Travel:

    Overnight travel & valid driver's license required

    Required Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; some college or technical training desired
    • 3-6 months as apprentice or previous technical experience
    • Ability to pass written and hands-on technical test
    • Ability to use Digital Multi-Meter (DMM)
    • Electronics and/or industrial controls experience/training
