Our team is growing, and we are looking for a tech savvy Help Desk Technician II to work with a team of other helpdesk technicians at various levels from one to three. The Help Desk Technician II will address requests from our FloWorks personnel to assist them with those areas the Helpdesk Department is responsible for. They will also be given specific responsibility over a particular process or functions within various parts of the Information Technology Department as their technical ability and experience permits.


The exciting things you will do in this role...

* Evaluates vendor-supplied software by studying user objectives and testing software compatibility with existing hardware and programs.

* Consults with users to determine appropriate hardware and software needs and assists in placing orders.

* Maximizes computer systems capabilities by studying technical applications and making recommendations.

* Gathers data to identify and evaluate technical purchasing options.

* Confirms program objectives and specifications by testing new programs, comparing them with established standards, and making modifications.

* Carries out software, network, and database performance tuning.

* Escalation of ticket from Tier I personnel on more complex issues dealing with workstations, software, servers, network or databases from an end user standpoint.

* Installs, modifies, and makes repairs to computer hardware and software associated systems. Manages network printer logistics.

* Resolves Tier II & Tier I level tickets representing staff-generated technical requests or problems and troubleshoots technical and process issues to maintain productivity.

* Manage user accounts, credentials, permissions, access rights, storage allocations, and active directory administration.

* Maintains system functionality by testing computer components.

* Tests compatibility of new programs with existing ones.

* Installs software and necessary applications for workflow.

* Trains users on new software in person or through a variety of tutorial channels, including self-guided training videos, user manuals, and digital instruction pages, often in collaboration with technical writers.

* Maintains system capability by testing computer components.

* Documents hardware and software updates.

* Keeps up to date on technical advancements by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.

Sys Admin Functions:

* Participates in projects as need by the Infrastructure Group that Design, organize, modify, and support an organization's computer systems, including operating systems, business applications, security tools, web servers, email systems, and user hardware (laptops, PCs).

* Quickly resolve any system failures and troubleshoots issues.

* Upgrade and manage hardware and software.

* Lead process improvements and modifications.


A nice to have...

  • Bachelors in the area of Computer Science, certifications such as A+, Security+, CCNA, ITIL etc. and/or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 365 & hardware components
  • Certifications: ITIL Foundation, CompTIA A+, Microsoft 365: Modern Desktop Administrator, Microsoft IT Support.

Environmental Job Requirements

* Typically, in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes, which may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.

* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. in a physical environment. Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes. Ability to make repetitive movements including, but not limited to, using a 10-key or calculator, bending or squatting.

* Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
