Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE: APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, is hiring immediately for a full timeSenior Engineer - Pressure Systems(Fixed Equipment Engineer/Static Equipment Engineer) located inGonzales, Louisiana(would consider this position to be based inBaton Rouge, Geismar, New Orleans, Convent, or Westlake), in a hybrid-style work arrangement (~60% wfh and ~40% working onsite). The engineer provides pressure systems support of facilities owned and operated by Air Products in North America, primarily on the Gulf Coast.Do you have a passion for solving complex equipment issues? The engineer travels (approx. 40%) to plant sites and engineering offices to provide technical solutions, and will work closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, metallurgy, and 3rd party engineering firms to address fixed equipment engineering challenges.Responsibilities:
  • Develop plans and lead repairs and/or alterations to coded vessels and fixed equipment, including boilers, piping, tanks, exchangers, etc. in accordance with all applicable codes and standards (ASME, NBIC, API, Jurisdictional requirements).

  • Perform engineering design calculations to implement design changes to static equipment and address operating issues.

  • Participate and implement recommendations in pressure systems failure investigations.

  • Prepare job scope packages and lead the execution during outages.

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum 3-5+ years in a pressure systems role.

  • Design and/or maintenance experience of vessels, tanks, piping, and high temperature insulation and refractory systems.

  • Experience with design, inspection, and repairs of fixed equipment associated with steam systems (boilers, Dearators, convection coils).

  • Experience with inspection / test procedures used to assess vessels, tanks, piping, and heat exchangers.

  • Fixed Equipment experience associated with Hydrogen, Ammonia and/or Methanol production is a plus.

  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
