The Project Resource and Outage Support (PROS) Group is a diverse group that supports Industrial Gases (IG) North America capital projects, strategic planning, turnaround planning, and turnaround execution. This allows our team to provide specialized services and additional capacity for infrequent events to operational assets. This position is located in Gonzales, LA.

The Turnaround Manager is a critical role for the PROS Group to support a fleet of assets via turnarounds that are required to meet operational objectives. The Turnaround Manager is the primary point of responsibility in safety, quality, schedule, and budget for IG North America turnarounds. This role will lead a broad team through the planning, execution, and close-out stages of turnarounds. The efforts of the Turnaround Manager will have a direct and tangible benefit to turnarounds.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Commitment to safety and ability to prioritize safety in all aspects of the turnaround.

  • Ensure alignment of turnaround objectives with business area and operations team.

  • Enforces quality standards as outlined by Air Products and Chemicals, Inc.

  • Ability to set priorities and provide appropriate structure to problem resolution.

  • Strong background in plant maintenance concepts for process related facilities.

  • Working knowledge of product development and manufacturing processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be familiar with basics principles of process piping, pressure vessels, heat exchange equipment, rotating equipment, basic electrical components, and process control devices.

  • Ability to summarize safety, cost, and schedule impacts for scope decisions to business area, technical engineering, and operation managers.

  • Refinery or petrochemical operations, maintenance, and capital projects experience.

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in turnaround execution, project management, field construction management, or related turnaround activity.

  • Proficient in the use of computers and business software, including Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook), OneNote, SAP, Primavera P6.

  • Technical or Business degree desired.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for ensuring all work is executed in compliance with client and company quality control and company safety standards.

  • Uphold and communicate high standards of integrity and respect.

  • Manage turnaround safety program.

  • Accountable for turnaround budget control and performance.

  • Accountable for turnaround schedule development and execution.

  • Drive schedule development and execution to ensure the turnaround meets all business objectives.

  • Responsible for establishing performance metrics and objectives to meet company and client expectations around safety, quality, schedule, and cost control.

  • Responsible for providing leadership, coaching and technical expertise to support turnaround work.

  • Responsible for providing a work environment that is consistent with company policies regarding discrimination, violence, or harassment.

  • Develop turnaround execution strategy with both planning and execution milestones.

  • Ensure a safe plant turnover to Operations while providing a leak free startup.

  • Oversee turnaround close-out process including all service and material commitments.

  • Organize and lead meetings with stakeholders. Participate in meetings with turnaround leadership team.

  • Assist in development of bid packages and contractor selections.

  • Oversee entire turnaround including pre-outage planning and post-outage site restoration.

  • Participate in the development of estimates, funding documents, schedule, and ongoing cost forecasts.

  • Manage change order process and communicate impact to HyCO Management.

  • Support continuous improvement by providing feedback on turnaround process and tools.

  • Support Air Products Management of Change process, recognizing plant changes and following through on all documentation and work processes in a timely manner.

PERFORMANCE STANDARD:

  • Willing to work a wide variety of scheduled days and hours, following strict fatigue management guidelines. Travel may be required as much as 25-45% depending on project.

  • Ability to work without close supervision.

  • Works professionally and harmoniously with co-workers, supervisors, management, support personnel, program participants, operations team, and business-related persons.

  • Able to achieve various State mandated certifications, ISTC background check, DISA screening, obtain TWIC card, and other requirements as may be deemed necessary.
