Overview

TRC is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer for our growing Civil Engineering Services team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on Louisiana DOTD bridge projects, be a team player, and be enthusiastic in working with other engineers, project managers, and other technical staff assisting with planning, designing, and overseeing civil engineering projects, such as the inspection, load rating and design of new bridges, bridges to be rehabilitated and have experience in hydraulic analysis and watershed projects.


Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of design documents for bridge projects that include hydraulic modeling of bridges and other structures with the ability to oversee the execution of this work in part by junior or entry level staff. Multi-tasking is a must within this environment.
  • Be involved and understand in all project aspects of production of project plans, specifications, reports and cost estimates.

Be involved in all project aspects including inspection/load-rating/design, site/field visits during construction, shop drawing review, and be able to work independently

  • Possess the skills and experience to participate in watershed projects that require HEC HMS model development, HEC RAS 2D Model development utilizing Arc GIS Pro, data collection, calibration and comprehensive report development that includes design alternatives.
  • Guide EITs for their development needs.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees.
  • Work will eventually include business development to secure new clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • Louisiana PE is required or able to obtain within 6 months.
  • 5 - 10 years of related experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be flexible, well organized, accountable, and dependable.
  • Physically able to perform work in the field.

Preferred

  • Experience using computer assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering and design documents (examples include software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and GIS).
  • Experience with projects involving Louisiana municipalities and regulatory agencies.
  • MS in Civil Engineering is a Plus.

In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $100,000 - $140,000. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
