YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WILL INCLUDE:

  • Provides technical and design services in support of drainage, flood protection, and stormwater management projects primarily. May potentially assist with transportation, water and wastewater infrastructure, and site design projects as part of a project team.
  • Contributesto technical evaluations and reports, prepares design calculations and assessments, and is responsible for assisting in the production of design/construction drawings, technical specifications, and bid documents, all under the guidance, supervision, and mentoring of Project Engineers and Project Managers on the design team.
  • Conducts, coordinates, and communicates technical evaluations and designs with the Project Manager and design team to complete work efficiently.
  • Responsible for completing design tasks within a specified budget and schedule, while balancing multiple tasks on multiple projects. Must effectively communicate and correspond with the design team to complete work efficiently and on time.
  • Responsible for communicating with clients, permitting and review agencies, grant administrators, and the leadership team.
  • Stays current with Local, State & Federal Design Standards and Regulations

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • 0-5 years professional experience.
  • Engineering Intern or Engineer in Training Certification, or ability to acquire in the State of Louisiana within 12 months, is required.
  • Must have working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Proficiencies with this software required
  • Candidates familiar with H&H modeling softwares (HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, Storm Sewers, HYDRWIN, ICPR, PCSWMM) will be favored.
  • Process-oriented individual with strong organization and technical skills.
  • Solid communicator, able to take and understand directivesfrom Project Manager and coordinate efforts with design team.
  • Strong writing and verbal skills.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Able to complete work consistently with moderate flexibility to accommodate varying demands put on them by Project Manager.
  • Requires a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record.
  • Requires successful passing of drugscreeningtest.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT:

  • Candidates experienced with design and plan production utilizing AutoCAD Civil3D will be favored.
  • Preferred candidate likely to be methodical, precise, and consistent, while enjoying some variety in work schedule and tolerant of change as work demands.
  • Preferred candidate likely to be able to work alone when required but also able to work effectively as part of a team.
