Responsibilities:

  • Oversees customer transactions.
  • Approves credit and check cashing for customers.
  • Issues and redeems markers.
  • Enforces company and cage policies.
  • Maintains compliance of state and federal regulations.
  • Counts down and balances bankrolls on an assigned level.
  • Trains new cashiers.
  • Handles customer complaints in the absence of the Senior Supervisor.
  • Oversees transactions with other departments.
  • All cashier functions at busy times or during breaks.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises Main Bankers and Cage Cashiers in the Cage Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or

employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Louisiana State Gaming License, LACT and/or TIPS card required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Cage employees are constantly handling currency and gaming chips, as well as completing detailed paperwork.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The casino is always heavy with cigarette smoke. The cages are frequently too cold or too hot, as climate control is set for the comfort of customers. There is a lot of vibration when working in the 3rd level cage. The casino is always very noisy. Must be able to work in a smoking environment.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES/ JOB DIMENSIONS:

Regular attendance in conformance with standards, which may be established by Bally's Shreveport Casino from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to Bally's Shreveport Casino Attendance Policy. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property. This includes all shifts, weekends, and holiday periods.
