Job Summary:

The Global Strategic Sr. Procurement Manager will establish and drive procurement of material and services in alignment with business leadership of the assigned business per the annual operating plan and strategic plan. You will have global responsibility for driving competitive commodity and category supply strategies in the chemical space to achieve lowest total cost , reduced working capital via high growth region sourcing, value engineering and sole/ single source elimination. You will manage supplier performance to support your business unit and ensure supply continuity. You will ensure compliance with company business policies and procedures, export /import regulations. The position will report into the Sr. Director, Global Procurement. The successful candidate must have a proven track record of team management, purchasing strategy development and execution, effective negotiation skills, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Responsibilities

Role Specific Responsibilities:

  • Build trust and relationships with business leaders of assigned portfolios
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Procurement strategy aligned with the company's overall strategic business objectives and operating goals
  • Lead a high-performing team, providing guidance and fostering a culture of procurement excellence that is measured through goals and KPIs
  • Develop long term sourcing strategies and actionable steps to improve assigned portfolio with clear business engagement and market intelligence
  • Ensure best purchasing value and competitive advantage through the purchasing of direct materials to support business worldwide
  • Work with global counterparts on supplier development & strategic sourcing from other regions
  • Identify strategically important suppliers and negotiate contracts to ensure supply of critical raw materials. Monitor vendor reliability and performance.
  • Identify and drive productivity improvements, typically working within cross[1]functional teams
  • Enhance security of supply by identifying/developing new sources to reduce risk exposure
  • Act as the principal line of communication between suppliers/markets and the organization
  • Work with Legal to ensure appropriate and effective contracts are implemented
  • Assist in effective raw materials inventory management

  • Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents, and near misses promptly
  • Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times

  • Takes responsibility and ownership for own learning and development in the spirit of continuous improvement of both self and the business
  • Assists in the training, mentoring and assessment of other team members

Qualifications/Desired Skills

Education and Qualifications:

  • Business or Technical Bachelor's Degree
  • 10 years of global leading experience within Purchasing or Supply Chain function

Experience:

  • Experience of managing a team
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing environment preferred
  • Proven track record of driving cost savings, supplier performance improvement and supply chain optimization
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and contract management skills, with a keen understanding of legal and financial aspects of Procurement
  • Quickly able to pivot priorities, mitigate risk, and develop actions to deliver results
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the company
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office, Power BI
  • Knowledge of process improvement (Six Sigma, MRP, others)
  • Experience working for a Matrix Organization

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Global Leadership experience in Supply Management/Sourcing/Procurement/Business
  • Demonstrated Business and financial acumen
  • Experience with SAP, E Sourcing Platforms, Request for Quotation Tools, Project Management Tools
  • International experience with exposure to High Growth Regions
  • Cross functional experience at the interfaces of engineering/technology, operations, sales/marketing
