Responsibilities

SECTOR OVERVIEW

Our Environmental Sector delivers comprehensive environmental solutions to meet the full project lifecycle needs of clients in renewable energy, oil - gas, transportation, and manufacturing industries. With one of the largest multimedia air and land permitting and compliance teams in the country, we support client success in manufacturing and industry, liquids delivery and processing, natural gas storage and delivery, power generation and delivery, and transportation projects.

POSITION SUMMARY

TRC is seeking a Project Archaeologist to support TRC's Environmental Practice for large- and small-scale projects in the Southeast. This position is full time for qualified candidates in the vicinity of our New Orleans, LA office. Field Lead will have: prior experience as Crew Chief or Field Director assisting with directing field surveys; have worked with GPS/digital field recordation technologies; report writing; and consider field safety a top priority. Weekly field schedules are typically 6-day work week and one off-day. Compensation is competitive, commensurate with experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - TASKS

  • Ensure the quality of archaeological data, fieldwork, and paperwork.
  • Direct and manage field crews performing archaeological surveys, testing, data recovery and monitoring.
  • Promote TRC safety and quality standards, policies and procedures and ensure field employees comply.
  • Complete tasks in a timely fashion; coordinate with project managers regarding project requirements and expectations.
  • Abide by Company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • At a minimum, a Bachelor's degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a related discipline but a Master-s degree is preferred;
  • 3 or more years of experience in archaeological surveys and/or excavations; 1 year at the field supervisory level.
  • Ability to think critically in the field.
  • Familiarity with digital field technology (GPS, Trimble, Geode, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite;
  • A commitment to quality and safety.
  • A valid driver-s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to travel, at times on short notice, work in the field on multi-week-long projects, have excellent communication skills, and work well on a team and individually.

COMPENSATION:

In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $54,000 - $75,000 annually. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
