A Structural Designer develops detailed structural drawings based on applicable specifications and work order instructions, ensures that the design product and engineering deliverables conform to engineering design and customer specifications, prepares BOM (Bills of Material), and consults with vendors on project related activities. Also coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.

The requirements of the position are as follows:

• A minimum of 3 years of structural design experience is required within the shipbuilding industry utilizing AutoCAD and 3D modeling using Ship Constructor software.
• Candidate must have working knowledge of USCG, ABS, SOLAS and other government shipbuilding standards (i.e. NVR, NAVSEA, MIL).
• Basic computer experience using Microsoft Office products (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook) is required.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills in addition to the ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
