Your role and responsibilities

Performs complex operations, record keeping, assist customer interaction, assist quotations, rewinding, repairing, reassembling and testing large-sized DC armatures, AC stators and rotors, etc. with minimal supervision. Able to work independently and meet delivery criteria and timetables. Performs complex operations such as rewinding, repairing, reassembling and testing large-sizedDC armatures, AC stators and rotors, etc. Progress updates/reporting to Specialists, Sr. Mgr. Performs related duties as assigned such as assisting on the larger or more complicated units. May dismantle and repair commutators and collector rings as well as to band rotating equipment. May be required to work overtime, various shifts, holidays and weekends.* Must be able to travel to job Sites (>10% actual).

Qualifications for the role

  • Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 10 Years experience winding AC and/or DC armatures from 200 HP to 5,000 HP +.
  • Able to read and interpret winding connection drawings.
  • Experience winding field coils.
  • Good Mechanical skills.
  • Able to travel and complete overnight stays.
  • Quality oriented.
  • Self-starter able to work with minimal direction.
  • Present ABB workmanship and daily communication to the customer in a professional way.
  • ABB will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
  • Desired Characteristics
  • Hydro-Electric experience highly desirable
  • Experience with Health and Safety programs including: LOTO, Electrical Safety, PPE.
  • Mining and/or Industrial experience.
