Job Description

The Business Development Manager will make a significant impact at Uniti Fiber by driving and growing revenue with targeted Government and Education sales.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identify and grow new markets and territories that fit within the scope of Uniti Fiber's profile that are profitable.
  • Work closely with senior team members in marketing, sales, training and operations in an effort to develop and create increased revenue for the business as a whole.
  • Collaborate with management on sales goals, processes, and procedures. Attend sales meetings to engage in discussions and decision making. Submit a weekly report for 4DX meetings for activities involved with new territories. Participate in revenue goals and targets for quarterly and annual growth.
  • Develop and implement business development strategies for a defined territory. Evaluate funding sources, purchasing policies, and eligible contracts to pursue.
  • Collaborate with marketing for the development of leads, which should be accomplished through email and call campaigns, as well as review and attendance of conferences. Work with marketing and VP, E-rate/Gov Sales for developing and deploying campaigns for business leads and growth.
  • Extend manufacturer relationships into new territories and markets. Participate in onsite and virtual meetings with partners for relationship building. Invite and include manufacturers in conference attendance, sessions and presentations. Participate in manufacturer demonstrations of products and solutions for product knowledge and marketing strategies. Invite manufacturer representatives to customer sites for customer engagement, demonstrations and support in defining and developing solutions.
  • Provide the sales team with resources to be successful in building customer relationships. Shadow and mentor the sales team for customer calls, visits and meetings. Support customer relationships through communication of leads generated. Support the sales team in becoming proficient in bringing qualified leads to the team.
  • Conduct and deliver presentations for customers, trade shows, exhibits and other events. Work with the internal team and resources to develop and pursue presentations and exposure to make a presence for Uniti Fiber in new territories.
  • Support the E-rate program by attending training and staying up to date on all E-rate rules and regulations. Work with VP, E-rate/Gov Sales to develop and pursue E-rate Cat1 and Cat2 targets for new business.
  • Bring enthusiasm, energy and ambition to the team for creating new business. Maintain professional interactions with team members and encourage positive attitudes.
  • Works flexible hours and travels as needed.
  • Supports special projects as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and/ or Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of infrastructure network technology experience is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of selling to education and government businesses are required.
  • Familiarity with E-rate Category 1 and Category 2 markets in the U.S are preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Experience with a Sales CRM platform is preferred.
  • Experience in sales, account management, and/or customer service is strongly preferred.
  • Ability of multi-task and prioritize is required.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, required.

  • Ability to travel up to 60% or more.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
